Carl Edwards went to victory lane for the first time in 2012 Saturday at Watkins Glen.

Edwards went back to victory lane in his first race back in the Nationwide Series. He took the lead from Brad Keselowski in lap 73. Edwards win in the Nationwide Series race at Watkins Glen is also his first of 2012.

Both Edwards and Keselowski raced for the lead in the final laps. Edwards regained the lead from Keselowski in lap 77. When the caution came out for Austin Dillion’s blown tire, Edwards kept the lead and took the checkered flag at the end. Keselowski would finish right behind Edwards in second.

Finishing out the top five at the Zippo 200 at The Glen were Sam Hornish Jr, Ricky Stenhouse Jr, and Ron Fellows.

Edwards also had an incident with Joey Logano after racing for position in the race. Logano spun on the track but no caution flag came out for the incident.

After Dillion’s blown tire at the end, pole winner Hornish moved to third in the Nationwide Series points standings, 24 points behind points leader Elliott Sadler. Also moving up in the point standings was Stenhouse, now in second place. Dillion moves down to fourth.

In the first lap of the race Ryan Truex Jr went into the grass in the first corner. Danica Patrick was caught in a collision with Truex and her radiator broke in the collision. Patrick ended up finishing 43rd, her worst finish in her NASCAR career.

Rounding out the top ten were Kyle Busch, Kasey Kahne, Paul Menard, Justin Allgaier, and Brian Scott.
