5 Drivers That Are Desperate for a Win
Victory lane is the pinnacle of a NASCAR driver’s career. To get grab that checkered flag and fill the sky with smoke from a high powered burnout, there’s nothing better. While the sensation has come easier to some this season than others it’s still extremely difficult at this level of racing to garner one victory let alone multiple.
This year Kyle Busch has returned to his old ways. The beginning of this season has felt like 2008 with Busch picking up two complete weekend sweeps of the Nationwide then Sprint Cup races at the Auto Club Speedway then Texas Motor Speedway. Busch now sits at seventh in the points after a disastrous Kansas Speedway weekend for him. There is no denying that Busch is still carrying some momentum and Richmond has always been good to him considering he has four wins there.
Then there is Jimmie Johnson, Mr. Five Time Sprint Cup champion. Johnson struck early with a Daytona 500 win and hasn’t stopped dominating since only sustaining a few setbacks at Bristol and then the Auto Club. At Martinsville, Johnson dominated from the pole and secured his concrete position (for the moment) at the top of the standings.
Cool, calm, and collected, Matt Kenseth also has picked up two wins this year after taking the checkered flag this weekend at Kansas Speedway.
While these guys have succeeded this season, there are some drivers in the Sprint Cup Series that absolutely need a trip to victory lane to turn their season around or to push them to the next level.

The reigning Sprint Cup Champion has put up a solid defense of his title so far even through adversity. However he needs a win to take a hold of that cup again this year.
