Dave Steele may not have been a prominent name in the world of motorsports, but the 42-year-old will be missed by many in racing.
Here is the crash at DeSoto Speedway that ultimately claimed his life way too soon.
Steele made starts in the NASCAR XFINITY Series and the Verizon IndyCar Series in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Many in the racing world offered their condolences following the fatal crash on Saturday night.
Godspeed Dave Steele, will never forget going to my first USAC pavement race and my dad telling me to watch him and try to learn.

Man, I love open wheel racing, but something has to change. RIP Dave Steele. One of the best pavement sprint car and midget guys ever.

Devastated we’ve lost Dave Steele tonight. One of my favorite sprint car drivers & a guy who drove for us at Panther. Prayers for his family
