Turkoglu, Turkey making waves in FIBA competition

When you think of the Phoenix Suns and their players, many words and phrases come to mind. High-scoring. Run-n-gun. Shooters. Seven second or less. One of the most important words that don’t come to mind is defense. However, new Suns acquisition Hedo Turkoglu and the Turkish National team are making names for themselves at the 2010 FIBA world championships by playing lockdown defense. The Turkey team has been holding their opposition to sixty points a game playing a zone defense that has their coach Nenad Vucinic labeled as a mastermind. Perhaps, the Suns can add Vucinic to the payroll long enough to teach this zone to them. As a result of their suffocating defense, Turkey is 5-0 in Group C of the FIBA World Championship and regarded as a favorite to win the competition. As for Turkoglu...
