Doc Rivers thought going into last season that his bench was going to make major contributions to the Celtics’ cause. Eddie House, Glen Davis and Tony Allen, joined new comers Rasheed Wallace and Marquis Daniels to form what he thought was a solid second unit that could score and defend. This was going to take heat off the starters. Doc could not have been more wrong. The signs that this would not work out were early. For starters Glen Davis injured his thumb before the season started and was out or not himself for most of the year. Marquis Daniels was hurt with a serious thumb injury that left him a non factor. Eddie House was ineffective. His shot was not there and his struggles caused Boston to lack the shooter off the bench that the team needed. Rasheed Wallace was out of shape at...
