According to Associated Press reports, former Chicago Bull Orlando Woolridge has been arrested for stealing aluminum tubing in DeSoto Parish, Louisiana. The 52-year old former sixth-overall pick in the 1981 NBA Draft was released after posting $2,000 bond.
Woolridge played for eight different teams during his 13-year NBA career in which he scored over 13,000 points and averaged 16.0 points per game. He never made an NBA All-Star team, but he did average over 20 points per game on four separate occasions.
He was suspended for the 1987-88 season for substance abuse and he retired from the NBA in 1994. Since retiring, the former Notre Dame star has coached in the WNBA and ABA. His son, Renaldo, is currently a member of the basketball team at the University of Tennessee and his other son, Royce, plays for Washington State.
