2012 will mark the second season for the G2 Zone for fans of the Indiana Pacers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The G2 Zone part II will be a combination of the Gatorade company teaming up with Indiana Pacers’ starting shooting guard Paul George and starting point guard George Hill.
The G2 Zone, much like Roy Hibbert’s “Area 55″ campaign, is yet another way for the Indiana Pacers players to reach out and show respect to their most dedicated fans. A special area for all of the Indiana Pacers home games, the G2 Zone will be offering 72 season tickets (purchased by Hill and George) for the wildest of Pacer fans.
72 is George’s jersey number (24) multiplied by Hill’s jersey number (3). Gatorade will be offering t-shirts and towels for the G2 Zone, and will be setting up exclusive events for the fans involving both players.
The initial auditions for the G2 Zone will be on campus this Saturday in Bloomington, Indiana. Hill and George will be on campus at the Hoosier Village at 5:30pm, in the southeast parking lot of Memorial Stadium. To be eligible to join the G2 Zone, Pacers fans must submit a photo that includes themselves and another fan, along with a brief bio, to Pacers.com/G2Zone.
The deadline to submit a photo is Sunday, Sept. 23, at 11:59 p.m. Finalists will be notified the next day and must attend the Finals in Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 2:00 p.m. The 72 winners will be announced that evening.
