Darrell Arthur is back and the Memphis Grizzlies are very glad he is.
Arthur was in the lineup Friday in a 90-78 NBA victory over the Detroit Pistons and contributed to help give his squad even more firepower.
“I feel good,” Arthur said. “I am starting to feel more acclimated with the team. Our offense is going and defensively. I thought I had a solid game.”
Arthur in his fourth season with the Grizzlies, broke the top of his fibula preparing for training camp and missed several weeks.
In the game with the Pistons, only his third of the season, Arthur saw less than 15 minutes of action but was 5-of-8 from the floor and was 1-of-1 from the free-throw line for 11 points.
“We came out a mindset of not trying to get down, and just trying to get the momentum going,” he said. “I thought we did a great job.”
But as far as Arthur is concerned, there’s still plenty of work to be done.
“I think I am coming back,” he said. “I still have a long way to go. I still have to get my conditioning right and have got to get my body right. It is coming slowly but surely.”
Arthur’s teammates are definitely glad to see him back.
“He is going to be really good for us,” said Grizzlies center Marc Gasol. “He has a different look, a lot of energy and a lot of athleticism. Good player.”
Arthur’s a good player, yes, but he needs to stay a healthy player for the Grizzlies.
