When it comes to basketball, every fan knows what Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo is capable of on the court as he’s proven over the years to be one of the league’s best as he’s coming off his 26th career triple double on Monday against the Charlotte Bobcats as he scored 17 points to go along with 10 rebounds and 12 assists. Now, it appears Rondo is showing off his talents away from the court in what turned out to be a hilarious commercial.
Sportscenter has always been known for their popular “This is Sportscenter” commercials and their latest involves Rondo’s “big hands.” While wrapping up a meeting, anchor John Anderson is warned about Rondo’s big hands and how he needs to avoid looking down when shaking the point guard’s hands.
As expected, Anderson gives in and looks down–only to see his hand look as small as a baby’s when compared to Rondo’s.
In my mind, these are some of the funniest commercials on television and it’s even more entertaining when they can find athletes to participate in them as well. While he’s never been afraid to speak his mind, Rondo always seems to be the kind of player that never has an expression on his face when doing interviews–so it was good to see him open up and take part in this latest commercial.
As for the Celtics–they’ve quickly become one of the hottest teams in the league after winning six-straight games as they prepare for their next matchup against the New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday.
