Tuesday January 22nd the Oklahoma City Thunder will travel to take on the a Los Angeles Clippers team that has taken the NBA by storm via high flying dunks and a 17 game winning streak.
The 32-9 Thunder are no slouches themselves and will create quite the game in Los Angeles on Tuesday as this could easily be a preview to the Western Conference Finals in May.
The last time these two powerhouses locked horns the Thunder walked away with an overtime victory where they scored 117 points on the Clippers. Kevin Durant had quite the night with a 35 point effort which was his season high at the time as Blake Griffin countered with 23 points.
Now, this game will change venues however, I don’t think that changes the result as the Clippers will be playing the second leg of a back-to-back after getting off a plane from the Oracle Arena the night before. The Golden State Warriors are a stout opponent and its hard to think that the Clippers could knock off them and the Thunder in consecutive nights.
A match up in this western conference showdown to watch for will definitely be the point guard battle as Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook are two of the league’s absolute best and in November the match was incredibly one-sided.
Westrbrook imploded for 23 points and nine assists while Paul matched the nine assists but put up just nine points in 44 minutes. Tuesday night will be a spectacle however, the Thunder will walk away victorious again as they are the better team.
