The Los Angeles Clippers have looked a little sluggish lately. The cure to what ails them? How about a little bit of Eric Bledsoe.
“It felt great,” Bledsoe said of his return. “I just wanted to focus on coming in and playing my game.”
Bledsoe missed the last six games and came back yesterday from his left calf strain against the Brooklyn Nets and had a solid all around game. He pitched in 7 points, one steal, one assist, and two rebounds in the the win.
“He was all over the ball tonight and that’s a point guard’s nightmare,” said Chris Paul. “It’s a point guard’s nightmare to have a guy picking you up the entire court, turning you, changing you in the backcourt, never knowing if he’s going to steal and then putting pressure on them defensively. So, it’s great to have him back.”
The Clippers are trying to hold onto the number three seed in the West, but might have a hard time of keeping it until season’s end.
“I like the way he was pressuring the ball,” head coach Vinny Del Negro said. “He had a big play on the baseline where we kind of didn’t have very good spacing on a fast break, but he cross-screened and went baseline and got the 3-point play.”
It sure was good to see him out there again; let’s just hope he can stay healthy for the playoff push.
