The Los Angeles Clippers are handling the ball very well in the NBA playoffs so far and that’s why they have a 2-0 lead over the Memphis Grizzlies. They can thank Jamal Crawford for that.
Crawford’s floor game has been exceptional for the Clippers.
He simply doesn’t make a mistake with the ball once it’s in his hands. In the two games against Memphis, he made one total turnover. That’s below his season average of 1.9 per game.
Keeping turnovers down is the key to winning any NBA game, regular-season for playoffs. A turnover can pump the defensive team up. But Crawford doesn’t usually let that happen against his team since he takes care of the ball very well.
In the first game against Memphis, Crawford was 5-of-12 from the floor and 1-of-6 in 3-point shooting. That’s not a great shooting percentage but he did score 13 points and had no turnovers.
In the second game against Memphis, Crawford was 6-of-10 from the floor and had one assist but three steals and only one turnover Usually when he has his hands on the ball, Crawford is helping the Clippers.
It might be tougher the next two games since the Clippers are now on the road. The crowd noise supporting the other team can make it tough. But if he keeps his turnovers to a minimum, Crawford can continue to be an asset to the Clippers.
He can also help the team in scoring since he averaged 14 points per game during the regular season. Crawford can help his team in so many ways.
