2013 NBA Draft Prospect Profile: Livio Jean-Charles, Power Forward, ASVEL Villeubanne (France)

Name: Livio Jean-Charles

Age: 19

Height: 6-foot-9

Position: Power Forward

School/Country: ASVEL Villeubanne (France)

Latest Stats: 3.1 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 0.5 apg

Livio Jean-Charles is a budding prospect and at 19 years of age, he is on the rise on many draft boards. Jean-Charles wasn’t a superstar over in France, averaging just 3.1 points and 2.7 rebounds in 14.2 minutes of action per game for ASVEL Villeubanne. However, Jean-Charles is entering the 2013 NBA Draft after making a considerable splash at the Nike Hoop Summit where he scored 27 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while earning MVP honors.

Jean-Charles is young, but he stands at 6-foot-9 and he is quickly becoming known for his high intensity and energy. A 7-foot-2 wingspan makes him an improving defender and it only bodes well to his overall potential. Jean-Charles is still a bit raw, but he has an increasing upside.

At this point, Jean-Charles is looking like a sure-fired second round pick.

Strengths: Jean-Charles has the desire to improve and his work ethic and intensity is through the roof. He is crafty around the basket and can slash to the hoop with his size and length. Jean-Charles is an evolving scorer and he has the ability to come in and provide a spark for whichever NBA organization makes the decision to draft him.

Weaknesses:  Jean-Charles is not the most physical of power forward prospects. He needs to get stronger and improve on his post moves. He has the quickness and energy to expand on things inside, but he needs to evolve his offense game a bit more. After scoring 27 points at the Nike Hoop Summit, his strengths and potential is obvious, but he needs to find a way to provide that production consistently.

Draft Projection: Early-to-Mid Second Round
