The Chicago Bulls pulled off a big Game 1 victory over the Miami Heat in the semifinals of the 2013 NBA Playoffs, but one of the main stories following Monday’s game involved Joakim Noah and how he’s receiving plenty of praise for defending his teammate–Derrick Rose.
Noah discussed after Monday’s game how everybody needs to get off of Rose’s back for not playing yet considering how difficult it is to come back from an injury as serious as a torn ACL. Last season, Rose suffered a torn ACL in the playoffs and even though doctors cleared him a while ago to return to the court–he still hasn’t been comfortable enough to suit up fo the Bulls.
Thanks to his decision–Rose has received plenty of criticism from fans for not choosing to play.
Fans can say whatever they want, but the truth is nobody really knows what Rose is dealing with unless they’ve been in that situation. It’s one thing to be cleared by doctors, but to put yourself in the position that Rose would be putting himself in isn’t the easiest thing in the world.
The last thing Chicago wants to see happen is Rose return to the court sooner than he should and have him re-aggravate his knee injury that would put his 2013-14 season in jeopardy. For all the fans in Chicago still giving Rose a hard time for not playing–listen to what Noah has to say.
If anything, Noah said it best by saying nobody understands what Rose is really going through unless they’ve dealt with the injuries themselves.
