2013 NBA Playoffs: Golden State Warriors Should be Favorites Against the San Antonio Spurs

It looks like Game 1 of the series was no fluke, the Golden State Warriors are just as good as the San Antonio Spurs. In fact, it looks like the Warriors should be the favorites in the series heading into Game 3 of the series at the “roaracle” arena. With the Splash Brothers Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson lighting it up and the fearless rookies Draymond Green and Harrison Barnes using their fresh legs to fly past the aging Spurs, the Warriors should put fear into every team in the playoffs.

The Warriors have the best home court advantage in the NBA, so it will be tough for the Spurs to win games in the Bay Area. Last series, center Andrew Bogut played out of his mind in front of the Dub nation, which would make it even worse for the Spurs.

Greg Popovich can no longer put his whole defensive focus on Curry because of the emergence of his fellow Splash Brother Thompson. With Green and Barnes knocking down open treys, the Spurs have no choice but to man up on the much younger Warriors.

The Oracle Arena will be out of control this weekend for Games 3 and 4–so the Spurs can’t afford to go down big in the first quarter. If the Spurs think they can make a big come back in the second half in Oakland, they have another thing coming.

Now that the Warriors finally broke the 30 game losing streak in San Antonio, expect them to come out with even more confidence in Game 3. Watch out basketball fans–the Warriors are going to shock the sports world.
