The Belmont Bruins are quickly becoming a regular threat to the NCAA Tournament. That’s thanks in large part to players like Ian Clark, but unfortunately for the Bruins, his career at the collegiate level has come to a close. Clark averaged 18.2 points per game this past season, leading the way for a Belmont squad that claimed the Ohio Valley Conference championship in their first season in the league. Clark has always been an offensive threat, scoring in double-figures in all four of his seasons at the collegiate level.
At this point, Clark isn’t expected to hear his name called on draft night, but he has the tools to play professionally somewhere overseas.
Strengths: Clark is a scorer, plain and simple. He can shoot the three and get to the free throw line and he did so on an efficient level as a senior in 2012-13. Clark is not afraid to launch from the outside and he excels in a transition game. Clark stands at 6-foot-3, but he has a wingspan that stretches more than 6-feet, 6-inches.
Weaknesses: Clark doesn’t have the greatest of size for the shooting guard position, standing at 6-foot-3. Coming out of the mid-major level of college basketball, Clark isn’t all that proven, despite an excellent collegiate career. His size and physicality could cause him to be a liability on the defensive end at the NBA level.
Draft Projection: Undrafted
