Well, here’s another interesting NBA rumor. Should the Boston Celtics consider trading both Paul Pierce and Avery Bradley in exchange for New Orleans Pelicans guard Eric Gordon?
Well, according to Michael McNamara of ESPN‘s Bourbon Street Shots network site, it’s a possibility:
Just heard strange rumor from EC source: Celtics talking about possibility of Pierce and Bradley for Eric Gordon.

As in any other rumor, this could simply be water under the bridge. I mean, it’s a pretty obscure trade simply because of those involved in it. Pierce is obviously a veteran, who is being heavily rumored to possibly be on the move this off-season. As for Bradley, well he’s had a rising stock over the past year or so; therefore you could see the interest from New Orleans’ perspective.
However, would Pierce be happy in potentially ending his career with a Pelicans’ squad that just wrapped up the 2012-13 season at 27-55? In turn, what value would the Celtics get in turn? Gordon has been injury prone throughout his NBA career, but when he’s been on the court, he has been productive — and he’s still young at just 24 years of age.
If Gordon can stay healthy, this would be a nice move for Boston — even though it would require saying goodbye to Pierce. Gordon could give the Celtics a dynamic back court — talk about speed and youth alongside Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green.
Just a rumor though, so neither side should get all hot and bothered by anything at this point.
Long story short, it’s a doubtful scenario.
