The New Orleans Pelicans will regret trading center Nerlens Noel and it might not even take that long to happen.
For a brief moment last night, it appeared that former Kentucky Wildcats Nerlens Noel and Anthony Davis would be on the same team, but just in the pros instead of college. Then it was announced that the New Orleans Pelicans traded the pick to the Philadelphia 76ers for Jrue Holiday and a myriad of draft picks.
Think the Pelicans will regret this down the line. Yes, Holiday is a quality point guard and possibly a future All Star, but think of the defensive capabilities Noel and Davis would have had together. Instead the Pelicans stupidly gave up a pick in next year’s loaded NBA draft for a starting point guard who has pretty much peaked at this point.
John Calipari had to be super confused last night and though Noel slid a bit in the draft, it may just give him the motivation he needs to become the best version of himself. It appears as though Noel ticked off a few people in the last couple weeks, so it will be interesting to see how he handles his career going forward.
