Well, this might just be the end of the line for Michael Beasley. Hate to say it, but if you get released from the Phoenix Suns that is not saying much these days. Beasley was arrested in Scottsdale, AZ on Tuesday after cops found three cigarettes containing marijuana.
Beasley has had Mary Jane issues at all his previous pro stops and he even vowed in a press conference when he joined the Suns that those days were over.
“I realize 10 minutes of feeling good is not really worth putting my life and my career and my legacy in jeopardy,” he said, “so I’m confident to say that that part of my career, that part of my life, is over and won’t be coming back.”
#Suns release Beasley after marijuana bust! Would #Knicks be interested in talented but troubled former #2 #NBA pick? http://t.co/oW3XaWizn4

The trouble with bringing Beasley on board at this point is that you really cannot trust anything that he says. He has talent as a player and that cannot be denied, but if he submarines your whole locker room does it matter? What if he is smoking with younger players and leading them down the wrong path? No it seems to me that in Michael Beasley right now, we are looking at basketball’s Tim Tebow. Though they could not be two more completely different people, they are both now out of work due to the baggage they bring with them off the field.
