It’s about time that someone from the Miami Heat organization turned a cold shoulder toward LeBron James and made it public.
Over the course of the four years that James was a member of the South Beach franchise, it was evident that Chris Bosh and “The King” did not have the strongest of friendships; well, those suspicions were made all but true on Tuesday.
When asked by reporters if the power forward had spoken to his former teammates since James decided to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Bosh answered with a strong “no.” This comes only a few days after Dwyane Wade told Bleacher Report that his friendship with James will remain strong.
The Heat will face the Cavaliers in Rio de Janeiro for an NBA preseason game, and Bosh didn’t seem too excited about seeing his former counterpart. He was asked if he looked forward to seeing James and he replied “Yeah … I don’t know.” He then went on to crush the dwindling friendship even more, saying, “If guys aren’t in my locker room, I don’t have much time for them – if any.”
For the first time since James departed from Miami, a member of the team has shown disdain towards the superstar, and it came from one of the softest-spoken players in the entire league. For the Heat, this is a great sign. It shows that Bosh has a chip on his shoulder and wants to prove to everyone, including James, that he and Miami will be just fine without No. 6.
It is uncertain if Bosh is prepared to fill the spot of leader for the Heat, but this was a step in the right direction. As far as the relationship between Bosh and James is concerned, don’t plan on hearing any stories that they invited each other over for dinner or went to see a movie together.
