Michael Beasley Leaving NBA For Yao Ming’s Chinese Team Is Smart Career Move
Michael Beasley‘s NBA career has been a flop. There’s really no way around it. Given that he was once thought of as a franchise player and selected No. 2 overall in the 2008 draft — his play on the court just hasn’t lived up to the hype.
For now, Beasley’s NBA career is over.

Some will call this career move sad. In a way, it is. There were really high hopes for Beasley in the Association. But on the other hand, this could end up being the best thing for the PF. He can now move into a much more stress-free environment, with a chance to actually become a star.
In addition to some of the perks of playing in China, Beasley’s deal is said to be of a “lucrative” nature. Given that he was playing in Memphis on a non-guaranteed deal, and wasn’t even assured a roster spot — why not take a chance elsewhere?
Beasley will be more appreciated on the Shanghai Sharks, and he’ll probably make a lot more money. It’s really a win-win. Plus, since it’s only a one-year deal, who’s to say he couldn’t make an NBA comeback next season? He might come back and turn into the player some thought he would be right away. It’s unlikely, but you never know.
