There have been so many great backcourts past and present so it's hard to choose the ten best heading into preseason but here they are! The ten best backcourt duos in the NBA entering preseason.

10. Damian Lillard & Wesley Matthews

Damian Lillard quickly put himself on the map. He has transformed into one of the best point guards in just a couple of seasons and Matthews has always been a talented player.

9. Jrue Holiday & Eric Gordon

These two would be ranked a lot higher if it weren't for the injury past of Eric Gordon. Holiday has made a lot of improvements over the past few seasons and when Gordon is on the floor he is very effective.

8. Deron Williams & Joe Johnson

This duo was supposed to be the best in the NBA when they got together two years ago, but that hasn't panned out due to the injuries of Deron Williams. If he's healthy, this is a great backcourt duo.

7. Chris Paul & JJ Redick

Chris Paul is arguably the best point guard in the league and you put him alongside a guy like Redick, who can absolutely shoot lights out then you've got something really good.

6. Goran Dragic & Eric Bledsoe

This duo came under the radar. Dragic was surprisingly one of the best point guards in the league last year, and to put him next to an emerging superstar in Eric Bledsoe, then you've definitely got yourself a scary backcourt, not to mention they acquired Isaiah Thomas this offseason.

5. Tony Parker & Manu Ginobili

If this was five seasons ago, this would probably be the best backcourt in the NBA. Parker is continuing to show that he is one of the most underrated point guards in the NBA and Ginobili can still effective at his age.

4. Kyrie Irving & Dion Waiters

With the re-arrival of LeBron, the attention won't be on these two, but maybe it should be. Irving has quickly made a name for himself as a top point guard and Dion Waiters is steadily improving himself.

3. Kyle Lowry & DeMar DeRozan

This one may surprise a lot of people, it shouldn't though. Lowry has continued to improve over the last couple of seasons and has developed his three point shot as well as his overall game, and so has DeRozan. Both make for a young, dangerous future for Toronto.

2. John Wall & Bradley Beal

Beal has already come out and said Washington has the best backcourt in the NBA. I disagree. But they still have one of the best in the league with Beal continuing to improve as a scorer and Wall just keeps climbing the ladders on the elite point guard lists.

This duo has continued to impress year in and year out. They even have their own nickname in the "Splash Brothers". Both of them can shoot lights out from anywhere on the court. The Warriors probably have the best two shooters in the game in their backcourt.
