Even though there is nothing glamorous about the NBA preseason, it is still an opportunity for fans to get a good look at how their favorite team is shaping up. Success in the preseason doesn’t automatically mean success in the regular season, but at least the players will have a feel of the level of chemistry and talent that is on the roster. Even though expectations outside of the organization are not very high for the Bucks this season, that doesn’t mean the players and coaches think the same way. Head coach Jason Kidd will not allow his team to let outside talk influence the way they go about their business. Milwaukee has the talent and potential to build a good chemistry, which could very well turn into a successful season that ends with a playoff berth.

In a survey conducted by NBA.com, Jabari Parker garnered 52.8 percent of the vote for who the NBA rookies believe will win the 2014-15 NBA Rookie of the Year award. If he wants the prediction to become a reality, he will have to get off to a hot start and remain consistent. That means attacking every preseason game just as he would a regular season game.

After the Bucks made the somewhat controversial decision to bring in Kidd as the new head coach, there were a lot of questions regarding him having the right coach mentality and discipline to be successful. One of the big issues Milwaukee has had in the past is coaches making bad decisions in the locker room and on the court. Kidd’s decision-making process will be scrutinized as early as the preseason.

One of the biggest storylines to follow will be Kidd’s impact on a young team. I believe Kidd’s presence will work out in Milwaukee’s favor greatly because a majority of the players idolized him growing him. They will listen to what he has to say because they will respect him from the start, which will allow the team to build a great chemistry not just among the players but with the coach as well.

Parker has an enormous amount of confidence that he can be a legitimate superstar for Milwaukee, which is music to the ears of fans. With that said, only time will tell how much of that confidence will relay to production on the court. The hope is that his average of 12.5 points in the first two preseason games is a sign of good things to come, although everyone in Milwaukee would like to see that average increase.
