Some interviews are awkward. And then there’s what happened between Tristan Thompson and Fox Sports’ Allie Clifton.
Clifton took the kiss in stride, saying that, “he just goes off the feel of the game, like he does with interviews…” Some (more specifically, Kelly Dwyer of Yahoo! Sports), however, are accusing him of sexual harassment, claiming that it was completely unnecessary and not at all cute for Thompson to kiss her on national television.
Now we’re not saying that Thompson’s actions weren’t a little out of line, but there’s no need for someone to call him out like he’s some sort of criminal. Clifton is a sideline reporter for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and obviously is familiar with Thompson and the rest of the team. Watching the video, it’s also easy to tell that Thompson had this planned out, something the two likely joked about beforehand.
Clifton has already addressed the issue via Twitter, stating that it was an inside joke and nothing to fret over.
Hey fans @RealTristan13 thing was inside joke & not a big deal. We have a good working relationship. All is good. Can’t wait 4 @cavs tonight

Dwyer makes a good point that it’s certainly not something to take lightly, but he might have wanted to get his facts straight before going off on Thompson.
