By now, we know that Mario Chalmers is capable of putting up 18 points; Chris Bosh could go for 20 and 10 once given the opportunity, and we are all getting comfortable with watching Dwyane Wade drop 10 assists.

But after seeing Josh McRoberts thread bounce pass after bounce pass, your first thought might have been shock that he could move the ball so well. And when you saw Luol Deng stroking 3-pointer after 3-pointer, you probably wondered where this defensive stopper pulled all of this offense from. Miami Heat fans may remember him as a two-way player from his Chicago Bulls days, yet be just as surprised with his 30-point game.

Simply put, both players have brought little bit of what the team was missing with the exit of LeBron James.

With the Chosen One gone and the lack of a natural point guard in most lineups, McRoberts’ precision passing will be looked to as a serious void-filler for moving the ball and hitting cutting teammates. On the other hand, Deng will not only be the guy who rushes to guard the other team’s best perimeter scorer, but he will often be expected to be the third offensive contributor that Wade and Bosh need.

Everyone questioned president Pat Riley’s vision, but if the league sees more outings like the one on Sunday, they will have to give him the ultimate credit in the form of another Executive of the Year award.
