Every fanbase should be able to find at least five things they are thankful for. Some teams certainly make it hard for fans to find the positives, but if you look hard enough it should come. And if not, maybe it's time to find a new team to root for. Here are the top five reasons why Detroit Pistons fans should be thankful.

It hasn't been a great start to the Stan Van Gundy era in Detroit, but no need to panic yet. Any Pistons fan just needs to look at the previous run of head coaches to be thankful for Van Gundy.

There is a good chance this will be the last season for Greg Monroe in Detroit, so no better time than now to be thankful for the previous four years Monroe gave the Pistons. He was continually the lone bright spot on bad teams, and it's too bad he likely won't be around for much longer. For both sides, I hope he gets dealt to a contender before the trade deadline.

Sometimes being thankful for past success is the best thing to do when the present isn't going so well. Only four franchises have won more NBA titles than the Pistons, and that is definitely something to be thankful for.

2. Andre Drummond

Andre Drummond has struggled so far this season, but he remains the cornerstone of the Pistons' future. The 21-year-old big man gives every Pistons fan hope, which can be half the battle in the NBA. Detroit fans should be very thankful that Drummond fell to them in the 2012 NBA draft.

It's hard to find anything about Josh Smith that would make Pistons fans grateful, but with every passing game his contract gets a little closer to being over. Detroit would be forever indebted to any team that decided they wanted to trade for him. With that being unlikely, the only thing left to do is start the countdown.
