10 NBA Players Who Are Total Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs maintain a very distinguished reputation in the NBA. They are old, boring, unselfish, smart, hardworking, etc. Here is a list of players who could fit in a Spurs jersey. Flopping is not included, because Tony Parker is obviously forced to the floor on every shot attempt.

Tyler Hansbrough, Gordon Hayward and Damian Lillard all demonstrate the quiet, no-nonsense play of the Spurs. Hansbrough is a bit too prone to altercations to be a typical Spur, and Lillard’s rapping keeps him out of the running as well. Gordon Hayward plays video games, which actually makes him a perfect friend for Tim Duncan.

Ray Allen (39), Kenyon Martin (turns 37 this month), Antawn Jamison (38) and Mike James (39) are all old, yet still active free agents. Would anyone be surprised if the Spurs picked up one of these guys?

Dragic is foreign and can seriously play. Don’t tell me you can’t see any Ginobili in this guy. His brother, Zoran, would work because he’s just some random European who’ll probably explode in the league.

Millsap doesn’t come off as super cocky or very emotional in his game. He is a big-time player and super competitive which would be perfect in San Antonio.
8. Roy Hibbert

Hibbert has had highs and lows recently. San Antonio is a perfect comeback spot for many players, and Hibbert’s offseason work with Duncan makes this match even more perfect.
7. Jabari Parker

Though there is already one Parker in San Antonio, Jabari is a silent assassin. Imagine Jabari Parker and Kawhi Leonard on the same team. So many buckets with little to no celebration.

An old spot-up shooter has two options: start coaching (Fred Hoiberg and Derek Fisher) or play for the Spurs (Brent Barry and Robert Horry). Or he could do both (Steve Kerr).
5. Pablo Prigioni

While Prigioni hasn’t been in the NBA very long, he’s an old dude (37). He’s also from Argentina with an Italian last name, just like Ginobili. Also, he passes the ball, which is rare.

The unibrow gains unwanted attention, which would be a problem for the Spurs, but his crazy skill, quiet demeanor and willingness to do the dirty work makes him great for the Spurs.
3. Nicolas Batum

The biggest reason for Batum is that he’s French. The fact that he can get buckets and knock down open threes is a nice bonus.
2. Nick Collison

Spurs fans hate Collison’s annoyingly perfect technique on defense. He takes charges with the best of them. Collison is OKC’s way of fighting fire with fire.

Everyone and their mother wants Gasol to replace Tim Duncan after the Big Fundamental retires. He would fit in so well with other international players, and Spurs nation certainly wouldn’t mind a little grit and grind back in San Antonio.
