The Los Angeles Clippers are doing another solid job this year with superstar performances and highlights from its top players. As the voting begins for the NBA All-Star game, it’s clear that at least a couple of Clippers will represent the Western Conference this season.
Chris Paul is a seven-time All-Star and hasn’t missed the game since 2007. He leads the team with almost 10 assists per game and two steals per game. A Chris Paul absence would send shockwaves throughout the league. He is the leader of one of the best and most explosive teams in the NBA and may just get enough fan support to play as the Western Conference’s starting point guard. However, don’t be surprised if he’s beat out by the deep group of amazing guards in the West.
Blake Griffin is making his early case for the MVP award this season, and everyone is taking notice. Griffin is averaging over 22 points per game, along with seven rebounds and four assists. Not to mention that he is making plays in the most explosive ways. Griffin has four All-Star appearances, and a fifth looks imminent.
Chris Paul throws a lot of alley-oops. Many go to Griffin, but there is another recipient on the Clippers. DeAndre Jordan could find himself at the All-Star game this year, but it will be a challenge. Jordan is second in the league with 2.46 blocks per game and leads the team in rebounding with 12.6 rebounds per game. Jordan may deserve a spot, but blocks and rebounds may not be enough to get him to the All-Star Game. His only hope is to be named a reserve by the All-Star coaches, but it won’t be easy.
All-Star Predictions: Chris Paul and Blake Griffin.
