2014 has not been a good year for the Philadelphia 76ers. From bad luck in the lottery all the way to two separate historically bad losing streaks, 2014 is a year that the 76ers will likely want to forget. Here are the five worst moments of 2014 for the 76ers.

The selection of Dario Saric is not on the list because of his play. Rather it is on the list because of the disappointment it brought to fans everywhere. After already selecting a guy who would miss the entire year due to injury, the 76ers traded Elfrid Payton to the Magic for Dario Saric who signed a contract overseas just days before the draft. Saric not being able to come over for a few years is why he earns a spot on this list.

Heading into the 2014-15 season, it was evident that the 76ers would not be able to defeat many teams. But that didn't mean they couldn't remain competitive. On Nov. 13, 2014 the 76ers were flat out embarrassed by the Dallas Mavericks. In a game that marked the return of Michael Carter-Williams, the 76ers suffered a 53-point loss, the worst in franchise history. The 76ers were expected to be bad, but not that bad.

To begin the 2014-15 season, the Philadelphia 76ers had a hard time finding their first win. In fact, it took the team 18 games to finally get their first win. Their 0-17 record to begin the 2014-15 season was the worst start in franchise history. It was also just one game short of tying the worst start in NBA history.

After trading several veterans at the trade deadline in February of 2014, the 76ers possessed very little talent on their roster for the remainder of the 2013-14 season. As a result, the team would tie the 2010-11 Cleveland Cavaliers for the worst losing streak in NBA history. This 26-game losing streak marked a new low in the franchise's ongoing rebuilding efforts.

With the team committing to a drastic rebuilding effort, the 76ers had only one thing to look forward to in 2014: getting one of the top two picks in the NBA Draft. Having a top-two pick meant that they would be able to select either Andrew Wiggins or Jabari Parker, two of the most hyped prospects to enter the draft since LeBron James. However, on the night of the lottery, the 76ers drew the No. 3 overall pick, leaving them without either player.
