Kendrick Perkins was traded from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Utah Jazz just about an hour before Thursday’s NBA Trade Deadline. It appears his stay in Utah won’t be long, as the Jazz are expected to immediately buy out his contract. Here are five potential landing spots for Perkins.

The Clippers have been linked to just about any and every player who has come available. After not making any moves before the deadline, the Clippers are still looking to reinforce the roster any way they can before the playoffs. Doc Rivers, Perkins’ former coach with the Boston Celtics, coaches the Clippers, making them the team to beat.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the Cavaliers are serious contenders for Perkins. Cleveland’s trade for Timofey Mozgov has worked out brilliantly, but the Cavaliers still have a need to add another big body.

The Bulls are a team Wojnarowski describes as a “very” significant contender for Perkins. Chicago is a team known for playing aggressive, hard-nosed defense, making the defensive-minded Perkins a perfect fit. Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau coached the Celtics defense when Perkins was in Boston, so there is the familiarity factor to take into account with the Bulls.

Size is just about the only concern for the Warriors as they likely enter the postseason as the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference. Marreese Speights is undersized as a backup center and Festus Ezeli hasn’t proven ready for significant minutes. With the injury concerns of Andrew Bogut, the Warriors could use Perkins as insurance.

The Hawks were another team that stood pat at the deadline, other than trading Adreian Payne to Minnesota for a first-round pick. Atlanta may not want to mess with their team chemistry that’s led them to the top of the Eastern Conference, but Perkins would be an upgrade over Pero Antic at the backup center spot behind Al Horford.
