The initial reports of Chris Bosh being diagnosed with blood clots in the lungs was absolutely terrifying. Having to be rushed to the hospital early after practice Wednesday, Bosh claimed he hadn’t been feeling well for the last few days, and due to the recent cases of blood clots in other NBA players, immediate action was taken to make sure he was given the best care in Miami. The typical diagnosis in these cases is limited activity with medication for at least six months, which would mean Bosh not playing for the rest of the season and even into the beginning of training camp.

With Bosh being potentially gone for the next couple months, the initial thought process for the Miami Heat is the season is absolutely done, even with the recent trade for NBA All-Star Goran Dragic. The thing is, the Heat can still survive without Bosh, even in the postseason. Even without including Dragic, the Heat still have another superstar player in Dwyane Wade who can carry an offense and a mammoth of a defensive center in Hassan Whiteside who can guard the paint like nobody’s business.

Depth will obviously still be an issue, especially in the frontcourt with Bosh out, but with the buyout player market becoming increasingly stacked, the Heat could still end up signing a quality frontcourt player with their mid-level exception gained from the Josh McRoberts injury. The most important thing is that Bosh gets well soon.
