2015 NBA Draft: 5 Players The Phoenix Suns Should Target

The Phoenix Suns reshaped their roster at the trade deadline and will likely end up in the draft lottery. They have some good young players in place and could challenge for a playoff spot in the West with a few more pieces. Here are five prospects they should target in the draft.

Kelly Oubre would benefit from playing in the Suns' fast-paced offense. His ability has been somewhat masked in college because opposing teams can slow the game down and clog the lane on defense. I think he has a chance to surprise some people next season at the pro level.

4. Bobby Portis, PF, Arkansas

Bobby Portis fits the mold of the increasingly sought after stretch forward position. Portis also has the ability to score in the post and is a good rebounder. He is averaging over 17 PPG and 8.0 RPG for Arkansas this season.

3. Kevon Looney, PF, UCLA

Kevon Looney is another power forward that has the ability to step out and hit jumpers. The Suns can use more depth up front, and Looney is the versatile type of player they like. Looney has flown under the radar playing on the West coast. UCLA hasn't been very good, but his name is sure to come up a lot come draft time.

2. Frank Kaminsky, C, Wisconsin

There will be a lot of debate on Frank Kaminsky's ability to play in the NBA. The naysayers will peg him as a career backup because of his athleticism. His combination of size and shooting ability will almost guarantee that he will have a job in the NBA for a long time. The importance of spreading the floor will make him an interesting prospect for some teams.

Jerian Grant would have no problem fitting in with the way the Phoenix Suns play offensively. He would thrive in their up-and-down style and can play either guard spot. I think he would fit in nicely next to either Brandon Knight or Eric Bledsoe. He is averaging 16.8 PPG and 6.6 APG this season for Notre Dame.

Watch Suns' Morris Attack His Own Teammate Goodwin

Just when it looked like Markieff Morris was ready to put all of the shenanigans behind him and focus on basketball, he does something stupid again. This time, he got so infuriated with teammate Archie Goodwin that he attacked him inside the Suns' timeout huddle. He not only shoved him, but he attempted to choke Goodwin which is way over the line.

Archie Goodwin Hits Epic Game-Winning Three

The Phoenix Suns are legit playing without five or six important members of their rotation currently, so guys who don't normally make the highlight reels are getting an incredible amount of playing time. This is the case for Archie Goodwin, who started at point guard in Brandon Knight's absence and hit this improbable three with time running out to cement a 98-95 win. Things haven't been go swimmingly in Phoenix this season, so it was awesome to see Suns fans and players alike enjoy this hard-fought win.
