It’s hard to imagine the Miami Heat having one of the better teams next season when they have struggled so much already this year. Injuries have been the primary cause for this franchise’s descent to the bottom of the Eastern Conference, with the Heat already out of the top eight for a playoff spot and no relief in sight.
The next 20 or so games will be against some of the top teams in both conferences, so its not hard to imagine the Heat’s current winning percentage of .44 dropping even further.
This season is already a lost cause for the Heat, so the focus should be what the 2015-16 season will have in store. By the looks of it, Miami should have one of the best starting lineups in the Eastern Conference. With everyone healthy, the team would see a starting five of Goran Dragic Dwyane Wade, Luol Deng, Chris Bosh, and Hassan Whiteside.
If the Heat wanted to stretch the floor more, they could even slot Bosh in as the starting center spot and Josh McRoberts as the starting small forward. Nonetheless, this starting lineup would be extremely hard to guard against, as four out of the five players can create or initiate their own offense.
Couple in the defensive tenacity of Whiteside, and you are looking at a starting lineup that could cause some really problems for many of the contending teams not only in the East, but out West as well. Let’s just hope for the Heat’s sake that everyone manages to stay healthy, but thats something no one can guarantee.
