New York Knicks (13-51) vs. Golden State Warriors (51-13)
Time, TV: Saturday, March 14 – 10:30 p.m. ET on NBA League Pass
Projected Starting Lineups:
Knicks:PG: Langston Galloway, SG: Alexey Shved, SF: Lance Thomas, PF: Lou Amundson, C: Andrea Bargnani
Warriors:PG: Stephen Curry, SG: Klay Thompson, SF: Harrison Barnes, PF: Draymond Green, C: Andrew Bogut
The best in the West will take on the worst in the East in what is sure to be another showcase of outstanding perimeter shooting from Golden State. As shown by their record, the hapless Knicks have done the exact opposite of the Warriors this season. This is funny considering Steve Kerr reportedly came extremely close to being their coach last summer before ultimately picking the Warriors. Right now, the Knicks are in full tank mode, and no one can blame them given the miserable season they have had.
The Warriors, on the other hand, are having a season for the ages. Kerr has perfected the art of small-ball basketball and it has resulted in a masterful season for his team’s best player, Stephen Curry. The Warriors also have one of the deepest and most versatile benches in the league, which makes them a huge favorite to win the championship this season.
The key matchup for this game will be the entire Knicks team vs. Curry. The lineup the Knicks are trotting out right now does not even warrant a key individual matchup. It will be fascinating to see just how bad Curry torches the Knicks, and how they decide to pick their poison in this game when looking at the many shooters the Warriors possess.
I see this being a blowout win for the Warriors. The Warriors are nearly impossible to beat at home, and will have no problem putting this game away early.
Prediction: Warriors 115, Knicks 82
