Rumors of Paul Pierce retiring could be far from the truth.

According to CBS Boston, there’s a good reason to believe that Pierce could pull a Kevin Garnett and finish his NBA career where it started. Boston Celtics guard Avery Bradley told Boston’s 98.5 ‘The Sports Hub’s Toucher and Rich’ that he’d be happy to see Pierce return instead of retire:
“I would love it if he came back here. To me, Paul is always going to be a Boston Celtic, [t]he things he was able to accomplish over his time here, they were just amazing. I’m sure all the Boston fans would love that as well.”
There’s no doubt a transitioning team could benefit from Pierce’s tenure — especially since Pierce proved during the 2015 playoffs that he can still lead by example. Pierce will be 38 for what would be his 18th NBA season and would likely receive a heroes welcome.
Paul Pierce will not do exit interviews w/media in D.C. today, leaving open his plans for next season.

Till now all we have is conjecture, but for eternity Pierce will have a legacy. Regardless of retirement or a return to Boston beyond Pierce’s prime, the Garden never forgets their champions.
