LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers were embarrassed on their home floor in Game 4 of the NBA Finals. To make matters worse, their best player got a nasty cut on his head after colliding into a cameraman on the baseline. James was fouled underneath the basket by Golden State Warriors center Andrew Bogut and seemingly lost his balance, resulting in the unfortunate injury.

According to Bogut, the foul wasn’t nearly hard enough to cause James to lose his balance and send one of the strongest players in the league flying towards the baseline. Following Game 4, Bogut was asked about the play and made it clear that he thinks James was embellishing.
“I think he jumped into the cameraman. Yeah, I think he came down and took two steps and then fell into the cameraman. I definitely, definitely didn’t hit him that hard.”
A reporter then replied by asking, “That’s how you saw it?”
Bogut quickly said, “No, that’s how it was. If you look at the replay, you can see the two steps being taken and then him falling into the camera. That’s what we saw on the replay, and that’s what my teammates saw.”
After watching the replay several times, I have to say I agree with the Warriors big man. James was clearly fouled pretty hard, but he definitely could have gone down earlier and avoided the collision with the cameraman.
James was clearly frustrated early in the game after not getting some calls he thought he deserved. I think he felt like he needed to embellish just a little in order to have some more fouls called for the rest of the game.
