2015 NBA Draft: 5 Perfect First-Round Fits For Toronto Raptors

The 2015 NBA Draft is two days away and every team is locking in on their first-round targets. The Toronto Raptors are one of those teams, and they have two major areas to address after getting trounced and bounced by the Washington Wizards in this year's playoffs. One of them is versatility at the PF spot, and the other is a stronger defensive mindset at the SF spot. With that being said, these are the five best first-round fits for them.

The Raptors seriously lack versatility at the PF position, and it cost them big time in the playoffs. Therefore, Toronto will need to rebuild at that position, and Kevon Looney would be a great fit. He is extremely versatile with the ability to play inside and outside. He is an excellent rebounder, especially on the offensive end, and his shooting continues to improve. Additionally, he can play SF if needed and would fit in well with Toronto.

I've noticed that quite a few mock drafts have Rondae Hollis-Jefferson going to the Raptors with their first-round pick (No. 20 overall) and it makes sense. He would immediately address Toronto's glaring need for a stronger defensive presence at the SF position as he can guard three positions. He is also a very athletic wing with an excellent motor. His shot may be currently broken, but he is still a great fit for Toronto based on their needs.

3. Bobby Portis - PF - University of Arkansas

When it comes to versatility at the PF position, Bobby Portis is one of the best in the draft. He can score by aggressively posting up in the paint and also possesses a good shooting touch from midrange to beyond the three-point line. Additionally, his motor never seems to quit, and he has a good basketball IQ which helps him make good decisions. He may have average athleticism, but he would still fit in very well with the Raptors.

2. Justin Anderson - SF/SG - University of Virginia

Maybe it's just me, but I feel that Justin Anderson would be a better fit than Rondae Hollis-Jefferson for the Raptors. Anderson is a long and athletic forward with explosive leaping ability and excellent shot blocking for his position. He actually projects to be a potential elite defender at the NBA level. Additionally, he has vastly improved his mid and long range shooting, making him a two-way threat that would be perfect for Toronto.

1. Trey Lyles - PF - University of Kentucky

When it comes to the perfect first-round fit for the Raptors, I feel that Trey Lyles is their top option. He provides an abundance of versatility at the PF position with his great footwork and a soft touch around the basket. He is an extremely skilled inside-outside big man with good ball handling, shooting and passing ability. Additionally, Lyles is from Canada and would be a great PR boost for the Raptors along with being a positional fit.

As if Philadelphia 76ers Kendall Marshall wasn't already hurting enough after his team was trounced by the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday, a young Raps fan decided to rub salt on his wounds. Poor guy.

Watch Mascots From Raptors, Magic Get Into It

During quarter breaks, timeouts and halftimes, nothing is more frustrating as a fan than sitting in the stands with nothing to keep your attention. Thankfully, the Toronto Raptors and Orlando Magic mascots made sure that wasn't a problem.

Watch Bulls Get Whistled For 5-Second Call Because Of Drake

The Toronto Raptors were down by three points with 25 seconds remaining and the Chicago Bulls were taking the ball out of bounds. It happened to be right in front of Drake who is the Raptors' biggest fan. Drake proceeded to talk trash into Justin Holiday's ear while he tried to get the ball in-bounds, and it distracted Holiday enough to get a crucial five-second call against the Bulls. This is my favorite Drake moment of all time.

LeBron James Tosses Up Air Ball With Game On The Line

LeBron James is oftentimes criticized for not being anywhere near as clutch as some of the NBA's all-time great players. He certainly didn't do anything to dispel that notion against the Toronto Raptors on Friday night, as he threw up an incredibly feeble air ball with time running out. James also inexplicably left two seconds on the clock which he could have used to get a better look at the basket. It was simply a massive fail.

Kyle Lowry Nails Game-Winning Jumper On Cavaliers

Kyle Lowry has been a beast all season for the Toronto Raptors. He's one of the most underrated in the players in the NBA due to playing north of the border, but Lowry proved his worth with everyone watching on Friday night. He dropped 43 points and nine assists on the Cleveland Cavaliers, and also nailed this game-winning jumper. With about two seconds remaining on Cleveland's final possession, LeBron James tossed up an air ball, and the Raptors cemented a 99-97 win to draw within two games of the Cavaliers at 39-18.

Raptors' Valanciunas Goes Primal After And-One

Jonas Valanciunas executed an excellent post move against the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday, and got a little excited when he finished for an and-one opportunity. Valanciunas surely screamed something fierce, but it was one of Toronto's announcers who truly stole the show.
