The clock has struck midnight (ET, that is), which can only mean one thing: NBA free agency is now underway.
The San Antonio Spurs and Kawhi Leonard wasted no time, and the two have agreed on a max extension.

As you can see from the tweet above, the deal could be worth a ton of money. What’s next for Leonard? Well, a huge wallet, of course. Possibly NBA superstardom next.
While the Spurs continue to get up there in age, Leonard continues to become one of the best players in the league. No, he is not on LeBron James‘ level yet, but he doesn’t have to get there either. It feels like it was just yesterday when Leonard & Co. took down the Big 3 in South Beach — for what it’s worth.

Gregg Popovich and the rest of the gang just need to continue to stick to their winning ways, and all will be fine.
Priority No. 1 definitely was dealing with Leonard first. Since that has been accomplished, pursuing a player like LaMarcus Aldridge should be second, third and fourth on the list. After all, Aldridge has the ability to make any team pretty darn good out on the basketball court.
Stay tuned for the Aldridge sweepstakes.
