5 NBA Head Coaches Who Shouldn't Have Made It To 2016 By Timothy Downs A miracle is the only way to describe the fact that these five NBA head coaches still have a job in 2016. Jeff Hornacek - Phoenix Suns Credit: Getty Images The Phoenix Suns have followed a dreadful offseason with an equally dreadful regular season thus far, going 12-25. Jeff Hornacek doesn't deserve all the blame, but it's clear that he's not going to be able to get through to this roster as currently constructed. If he wasn't a legendary former player for the organization, he likely would have already been handed his walking papers. 5. Jason Kidd - Milwaukee Bucks Credit: Getty Images What Jason Kidd did earlier this season by attempting to violently rip a basketball out of a referee's hands was absolutely outrageous. How can he expect his Milwaukee Bucks players -- who are all incredibly young -- to follow his lead when they have to hold him back from assaulting an official? Kidd is a known hothead, and the Bucks were clearly taking a step backward prior to his leave of absence due to hip surgery. It's no coincidence that the team is playing better without Kidd's negative presence in the mix. He needs to go, and should have been gone prior to the ball dropping. 4. Byron Scott - Los Angeles Lakers Credit: Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports Outside of some crazy, diehard fans, no one expected the Los Angeles Lakers to win many games this season. However, considering the young talent on the roster, 8-27 isn't exactly cutting it. Not only has head coach Byron Scott failed to rack up wins, he's also had an absolutely dreadful relationship with rookie guard D'Angelo Russell, and is now beefing with forward Julius Randle. If it weren't for his rapport with Kobe Bryant, Scott would have been kicked to the curb as he undoubtedly deserves to be. 3. Lionel Hollins - Brooklyn Nets Credit: Getty Images Lionel Hollins is an old-school head coach who many NBA specialists and insiders say doesn't have the required patience to lead a franchise that's rebuilding. He hasn't been given much to work with, but a 10-23 start is still completely unacceptable. 2. Randy Wittman - Washington Wizards Credit: Getty Images Sure, the Washington Wizards have been riddled with injuries this season and their 15-17 start isn't entirely head coach Randy Wittman's fault. However, he does deserve a large portion of the blame, as he hasn't been able to get the Wizards over the hump since taking over the team in 2012. Washington can't waste John Wall's prime by holding on to Wittman for too long. The Wizards should have fired him already if we are being honest. 1.
