The 5 Best Potential Fits For Ty Lawson

Being traded to the Houston Rockets was supposed to mean a career resurgence for Ty Lawson after multiple DUI arrests and time spent in rehab. Instead it's been his worst season, as Lawson has slipped in and out of the rotation and Houston has been a colossal disappointment. Lawson's trade value is at an all-time low right now, and the Rockets could be looking to cut their losses at the same time as a second team could give him another new start.

Derrick Rose is far from the 2011 MVP play that will never return, and Chicago could use some help at the point guard position. Rose's backup right now is Kirk Hinrich, so almost anything would be an upgrade for the Bulls.

Pacers starting point guard George Hill is averaging just 3.2 assists per game, although he is scoring the ball at an efficient rate. If Lawson can play as his pass-first backup, he will be effective in the up-tempo Indiana offense.

How many times has it been said that Chris Paul needs a backup? Well, the Clippers have tradable assets and would be wise to at least take a look at Lawson.

Nobody is happier about the Rockets' season than the Milwaukee Bucks, because it is taking all the attention off their flop of a start. Michael Carter-Williams' play hasn't helped, and with Greivis Vasquez out after ankle surgery, Williams doesn't have a verifiable backup, so Lawson would be a welcome addition. If he returns to form, Lawson would inevitably pass Carter-Williams in the rotation.

Regardless of the status of their team, the Lakers are always looking to make improvements. Ty Lawson is a risk, but with a contract that isn't guaranteed for next season, he's one that is worth taking for Los Angeles.
