5 Most Likely Landing Spots For Los Angeles Lakers PG D’Angelo Russell

According to hoopscritic.com’s Brian Geltzeiler, the Los Angeles Lakers have made rookie point guard D’Angelo Russell available in trade talks. They haven’t been happy with his effort and he’s had multiple run-ins with head coach Byron Scott. That being said, it’s a bit shocking to give up on a player they drafted No. 2 overall in the 2015 NBA Draft. If Russell were to be traded, these five teams should certainly be involved.

5. San Antonio Spurs

This would definitely be a longshot as the Spurs don't tend to get heavily involved in the trade market. However, Russell would be the perfect successor to Tony Parker and being in that system with Gregg Popovich would do wonders for Russell's game.

4. Sacramento Kings

The Kings could offer the Lakers a package involving Rudy Gay and Rajon Rondo that could be enticing. I'm not saying they will, but both those guys are expendable. With DeMarcus Cousins maturing and taking on more of a leadership role, Russell would set the Kings up to be successful for a long while.

3. Indiana Pacers

The Lakers need players who will attract free agents to come to their team. Right now, there aren't any big name guys that would be willing to sacrifice their careers to go out there for money. If they could trade Russell to the Pacers for Monta Ellis and a few draft picks, it would be a nice start to the 2016 offseason.

2. Philadelphia 76ers

The 76ers are loaded with young talent, but the majority of it is up front with Jahlil Okafor, Nerlens Noel, Jerami Grant, Joel Embiid and potentially Ben Simmons in the 2016 NBA Draft. While Ish Smith has performed admirably, he's likely not the long-term solution for the Sixers. Trading a big or two to the Lakers for Russell would make sense for both sides.

1. Brooklyn Nets

The Nets are devoid of young talent across the roster and possess center Brook Lopez who would likely be attractive to the Lakers. Russell would give the Nets a kid to build around for the future while Lopez would give Mitch Kupchak a star to attract free agents this offseason.

Not cool, LeBron.LeBron throws a fastball at the wrong spot. #ouch

Posted by Bleacher Report on Wednesday, February 10, 2016

On Wednesday night, the Los Angeles Lakers made a fourth-quarter comeback against the Cleveland Cavaliers, but ultimately lost 120-111. Unfortunately, along the way, rookie point guard D'Angelo Russell was struck in the groin by an errant pass at the hands of LeBron James, and ended up on the floor in quite a bit of agony as any man would. Thankfully, after leaving the game for a few minutes, Russell was able to return.

Ryan Anderson Throws Down Savage Dunk On Kobe Bryant

Although Kobe would get the last laugh with the win, his second great performance and the Lakers notched back-to-back wins for just the second time this season, that doesn't stop this Ryan Anderson dunk from being any less disrespectful. The Mamba is in a retirement year, man, let him go out with his dignity still in tact.
