The Suns should have traded Markieff Morris months before they did. When he was finally moved, they received no rotation players and the hope of a draft pick in return.

Before his injury, Brandon Knight led the team in field goal attempts with a career-high 17.2 per game but shot just 41.5 percent. The only player on the team with a higher usage percentage was Eric Bledsoe. In his defense, the Suns paid for this.

The Suns were last in turnovers per game and turnover percentage. They were third in pace factor so there were plenty of opportunities for error. Both Bledsoe and Knight are turnover prone.

The Suns were bad on defense, and part of the reason was how sloppy they were -- ranked last in fouls per game and 28th in defensive free throws per field goal attempt. When you're last in opponent field goal percentage, you can't make mistakes.
