Domestic violence is far too prevalent in society, and the sports world has broadened the attention on it with some high-profile situations. On Memorial Day, Sacramento Kings guard Darren Collison was arrested on a domestic violence charge and booked in jail.
Here’s a look at Collison’s mugshot.

Via CBS in Sacramento, here are some details.
Collison was arrested on Monday afternoon after deputies responded to a report from a woman who said she was being assaulted inside a Granite Bay home.
…
The Placer County District Attorney’s office says it has been made aware of the arrest, but the case has not been referred to them.
Collison was released on $55,000 bail and is due back in court on July 11.
The specific charges against Collison were one count of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant and two misdemeanor bench warrants for driving on a suspended license. CBS13 reported the alleged victim in the domestic violence incident is Collison’s wife.
The Kings offered the typical, canned, “we’re gathering information” statement after Collison’s arrest.
“We’ve been made aware of the situation. The Sacramento Kings condemn violence of any kind. We are gathering additional information and once all facts are known we will take appropriate steps.”
Collison is slated to make over $5 million next season, in the final year of his contract with the Kings. Depending on how his court case plays out, a suspension from the NBA seems likely.
