The Minnesota Timberwolves selected Providence guard Kris Dunn with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft on Thursday evening. Shortly after the selection, Dunn got incredibly emotional during his interview with ESPN‘s Lisa Salters.

Dunn remarked:
“It’s probably one of the best feelings ever. Supporting my family. My mom, she passed away. I know she’s looking up at me. I’m doing this for my city. And everybody who’s got support for me. I love everybody.”
It’s great to see someone who has clearly been through a lot ultimately persevere. Good luck, Kris!
