In a game where the Washington Wizards shot 53 free throws to beat the Phoenix Suns, that wasn’t even the strangest things that happened on the court.
No, that event came courtesy of someone who wasn’t any player at all.
This footage is of the Suns gorilla mascot diving on the floor to retrieve a drumstick he dropped before a player slipped on it and suffered a serious injury.
While it would be advisable not to drop the stick in the first place, the gorilla’s quick thinking and immediate action prevented a potentially bad situation from ever coming to fruition.
