Last week, New York Knicks big man Joakim Noah was busted for performance-enhancing drugs and suspended for 20 games by the NBA. Noah has already been ruled out for the rest of the season with an injury and the league stated that he couldn’t start serving the suspension until he was fully healthy.
On Tuesday, Noah was asked about the positive test and shockingly the former Florida Gators star didn’t exactly make excuses.
“I wanted to do something to help myself, help my body and like I said it backfired on me,” Noah said. “I tried to take the right measures when I was taking the supplements and it wasn’t enough.”
“So I know it didn’t come from a bad place,” Noah said, saying he thought 20 games was severe but “it is what it is and I’ve got to bounce back.”
It’s a bit refreshing to see a professional athlete admit when they’ve done something and not make up excuses.
