The Los Angeles Clippers lost Game 5 of their Western Conference quarterfinals series with the Utah Jazz at home on Tuesday night, and Chris Paul was none too pleased during his postgame press conference.
When a reporter asked if the Clippers will make it back to the Staples Center on Sunday for a Game 7, which would require a Game 6 win in Utah, an agitated CP3 gave him a piece of his mind.
Chris Paul wasn’t having it. 😂😂😂
“What? … What you think?” said a ticked-off Paul. I’m on the team. What you want me to say, no, it’s over? That’s what you want to hear? Yes. Come on, man. You’ve been doing this long enough. Seriously, right?”
When asked to expand upon his answer, Paul responded: “No, I don’t know. Everybody in here laughing for a reason. Come on, man.”
While I don’t normally side with players when they get frustrated with beat writers who are just trying to do their job, it’s totally understandable to see Paul a tad baffled by the question.
It’s simply unnecessary, as any player in their right mind is going to express confidence in his team’s chances moving forward, even if he doesn’t believe what he’s saying deep down.
