After the Philadelphia 76ers traded up to No. 1 overall in the 2017 NBA Draft to land Markelle Fultz, much of the buzz around a nickname for this squad involved “the process” and “the result” theme for the rebuild this franchise has undergone.
But now a new moniker has emerged, as athletic big man Joel Embiid unleashed it on Twitter.
According to Sixers fans, the new nickname is the “FEDS” (Fultz, Embiid, Dario, Simmons).. the FEDS are coming ???#TheProcess

It’s clever enough, with Dario Saric and Ben Simmons combining to make an impressive quartet of young talent.
But now NBA champion Kevin Durant found it necessary to take a shot at this team’s self-appointed new name.

Not sure why a champion is ripping on a team that just picked first overall in the draft over a nickname, but hey.
Insecurities come out in the strangest ways.
