Charlotte 49ers Can Make Some Noise In Atlantic 10 Tournament

The Charlotte 49ers will enter the Atlantic 10 tournament as the No. 9 seed, but they are certainly good enough to make some noise.

Charlotte will start off the conference tournament by playing Richmond. The only time these two teams met this season, Richmond blew the 49ers out by 20 points. However, that game was played on the road for Charlotte.

The 49ers will have to win the A 10 to even think about dancing, but stranger things have happened. This is a team that has beaten La Salle, Xavier, Butler and Massachusetts on the year, so you better believe that Charlotte is capable of pulling off the upset. Not to mention, the 49ers are entering the conference tournament on a two-game winning streak. Duquesne and Saint Joseph’s may not be the best wins in the world, but Charlotte will still at least enter the tournament with some momentum.

Call this team a dark horse if you will.

The only problem if Charlotte does win its first game of the A 10 tournament is the fact that it will have to play Saint Louis in the very next game. The Billikens are only the No. 1 seed in the tournament and all, so the odds will not be in the 49ers’ favor.

However, at 20-10 overall and 8-8 in the conference, Charlotte has definitely held its own. This is a team that has three players that score 10 or more points per game and it will only take one of those players to go off for this team to really make some noise in the conference tourney.
