The Saint Louis Billikens had a great season, and although they will be losing a couple of players, they will compete once again in the 2013-14 college basketball season.
Both Kwamain Mitchell and Cody Ellis were seniors this season and both graduating will definitely hurt the team next year. They were the second and third leading scorers on the team this year.
However, leading scorer Dwayne Evans was only a junior, so he will have one year left with Saint Louis. Evans led the team with 14 points per game and 7.7 rebounds per game. This is huge that he will be back. The next highest rebounder on the team only averaged 3.5 rebounds per game.
There will be plenty of other players returning to the team next season as well. Although a decent portion of the offense will be gone from the loss of two very talented players, the Billikens did win the Atlantic 10 Conference tournament and regular season title. They earned a No. 4 seed in the 2013 NCAA Tournament as a result.
It will be really tough for Saint Louis to repeat all of those things, but that does not mean that they will not compete for a conference title and make the Big Dance once again.
The Billikens definitely had a season to remember for fans, but they should be pretty good once again next season. Who knows, maybe this team will be good for years to come. Sometimes all that it takes is one really good season for this to happen and Saint Louis is coming off of two really good seasons.
